Biblical writers and saints did not hesitate to use various forms of contemporary popular culture in order to reach people with the message of God's grace. The same liberation and takeover of pop culture by God's people has continued to the present day. T.M. Moore goes on to establish three main guidelines for liberating modern pop culture: 1. Exercise Discernment (raising questions about the messages of pop culture); 2. Take It Captive (disarming it, subduing it, and offering it up); and 3. Make It Obey (using and creating pop culture that promotes sanctification and the gospel).
