Warren details the reason behind the world’s problems is man’s sins and transgressions, his corrupted nature, and the fallen state of the world.  Because of the fall, the world has natural disasters, people have physical deformities, we experience decay and death and emotional distress, our relationships are broken, and we live in spiritual darkness.  God lets the world continue in this state to let people choose to follow Him, to show them their need for a savior, and to demonstrate his grace through patience, and we in response should depend only on God and his grace as the solution to the mess the world is in.
