Traditionally, Christians have shied away from the arena of environmental protection, believing that it is an issue that is dominated by evolutionary and new age worldviews. However, from the very time of the creation of the Garden of Eden, God charged mankind with caring for the environment. Though it is not healthy to go to the extreme of valuing nature above humanity, it is also unbiblical to have an utter disregard for the environment.
