You know the motto: maybe we should listen. For the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.
A few years ago, I spoke at a Christian university the week after Truett Cathy had spoken there. During his talk his staff released a couple thousand toy parachuting cows into the audience. That’s a tough act to follow. But the founder of Chick-Fil-A landed a marketing gold mine with his cows that say “Eat More Chicken” instead of Moo. And they are also known as a Christian company.
For many businesses, being morally upright and respecting a day of worship would be the extent of expressing their faith. But Chick-Fil-A’s faith is reflected in a franchising model that values people over profit, a leadership training program that instills character in its employees, and their impressive charitable work on behalf of children and marriages.
And last week Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy publicly announced his opposition to same-sex marriage, and is now taking a lot of heat for it. We need to support them, not only by eating more chicken but by taking the stand ourselves. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
