Doing the Right Thing: A Six Part Exploration of Ethics is now on sale through the Colson Center for Christian Worldview and BreakPoint.

The six part series includes discussions from an expert panel, including Colson and Dr. George, that is taped before an audience of Princeton University students. The panelists address the following subjects:

  • How did we get into this mess?
  • Is there truth, a moral law we can all know?
  • If we know what is right, can we do it?
  • What does it mean to be human?
  • Ethics in Public Life
  • Ethics in the Marketplace

The anticipation for this latest teaching effort by Chuck Colson and Dr. Robert George of Princeton University has been palpable.

Large crowds, including many college students, have turned out in cities like Dallas and Denver to listen to Colson and a panel of ethics experts discuss the value of bringing the Western, Judeo-Christian ethic to bear on some of the most significant ethical crises of our times.

America is fast losing her spiritual and ethical mores, and we see it every day in our culture. Nevertheless, we are convinced that, as in past times with John Wesley and William Wilberforce, a growing movement for an ethics based on Natural Law principles can turn our country, our churches, and our neighborhoods around.

Chuck Colson, Founder of Prison Fellowship and the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, began to study our society more intently after ministering for several years to our nation's prison population. Colson realized that, try as we may, Prison Fellowship would never be able to reach every single prisoner across the country. The number of prisoners was just too high, growing tenfold over the past thirty years.

"We had to start reaching the society from which these prisoners came," said Colson. "But you know, it's not just about serious crimes. We all have been affected by a loosening of the moral constraints. We have more addictions than ever before, students cheating to get ahead in school, you name it. And the financial and political scandals never seem to stop."

"This is a national dialogue that is long overdue," explained Colson. "That's why we're glad to provide this exceptional six-part series on DVD, so that people can have discussions in their own churches and towns about areas in which we all can improve. Then and only then can we start to winsomely teach others what we have learned. Strong ethics are needed in our personal as well as our professional lives, and the Doing the Right Thing DVD series is striking a chord out there."

The six part DVD series intentionally uses language that can be understood by everyone, both in and outside of the church. "We want to see this series have impact in the business, medical, and government sectors," said Colson. "After all, the values we discuss in "Doing the Right Thing" are universal and applicable to everyone, regardless of their profession or station in life."

Panelists include Colson and Dr. George, author and commentator Ben Stein, David Miller, Michael Miller, Scott Rae, Dr. Glenn Sunshine, and others. The panel discussions are moderated by Fox News Senior Political Commentator Brit Hume.
