GENERAL

How can I find out more about the Colson Center?

Information about the Colson Center is available here.

What is the Colson Center for Christian Worldview’s Statement of Faith?

Click here for our Statement of Faith.

Why have Prison Fellowship and the Colson Center for Christian Worldview separated?

In the three years since Chuck Colson’s passing the Colson Center built up the momentum to flourish as evidenced by planned initiatives and new leadership.  The Board of Prison Fellowship felt that separating the Colson Center from Prison Fellowship would allow each to flourish more fully. The missions, messages and audiences of the Colson Center and Prison Fellowship are distinct, and through the years we have learned that audience engagement is driven by different issues and passions for each organization. The Colson Center’s independence enables it to more fully focus on what it does best—promote a Christian worldview—and communicate with greater precision to those who care about the mission.  Because the missions, messages and audiences of the Colson Center and Prison Fellowship are so distinct from one another, an independent Colson Center will enable each entity to more fully focus on the ministry that each is called by God to do with the opportunity to communicate with greater precision about their respective missions. Prison Fellowship will continue its momentum by focusing on those impacted by crime and incarceration.

When was the separation official?

The separation was complete on December 31, 2015. The Colson Center is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a separate corporation.

Will Prison Fellowship and the Colson Center partner in any way?

Yes, Prison Fellowship and the Colson Center will continue to partner, collaborate and support each other as possible.

Does the Colson Center have its own Board of Directors?  Who is the chair?

As an independent organization, the Colson Center has its own board of directors. Peter Mahon of Minneapolis, Minn., is serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors. We are also pleased that Emily Colson is serving as a member of the Board of Directors. Emily, daughter of Chuck Colson, has become a nationally recognized advocate of those with disabilities. She is the author of “Dancing with Max,” a book about her experience raising her autistic son. The full list of Board members can be found here.

Who is the head of the Colson Center?

John Stonestreet has been named the President of the Colson Center. He leads in the calling to equip individuals, organizations and churches committed to living and defending a Christian worldview.

How do I contact John Stonestreet?
